On The Road Again...
Last week, in Ulf's absense, Thekla managed to get possessed by a "gross tumorous rabbit type spirit" and the party started off towards Blackleg to get her healed.
He's left unclear as to (1) how she got possessed, (2) what exactly is possessing her, (3) what the nature of this possession is like, and (4) why we're going to Blackleg instead of Lichgate to get this dealt with.
Oh well, hopefully Mayfly's account of the events explains everything.
There was also some account of removing a spirit from a gross jar and getting treasure from it.
The spirit agreed to not hinder out journey in exchange for putting Thekla into a sort of dream-like trance. She's out of commission this week living in the shadow realm.
Back On The Road - The 9th of Youngers
The next morning, after catching Ulf up to speed, he learns that the party has a 2nd haunted pot.
He's still not clear on how the party got either pot, but we assume this one is also haunted and Blossom plans to stab straight through it with her sword, the heretical Shard of God.
She does so, cracking open the ceramic and releasing the damaged enraged spirit, who flies up into the air.
Mayfly and Pataki are both captivated by its gaze and are instantly aged 10 years and start fleeing the monster in terror.
The creature disappears in an instant, but Liminal thinks its not quite gone.
He turns undead, using his magical amulet, and the spirit reappears, bursting out of Blossom and flees towards the horizon.
Inside the cracked pot are 36 dwarven platinum coins, worth a total of 3,600sp.
After 40 minutes, Mayfly and Pataki stop fleeing, and begin trotting back towards the party, where we regroup and set off.
We arrive in Knightpath as evening sets in without further incident and spend the night at the local tavern, the Wicked Witch.
Goblins and Wolves and Nobles, Oh My - The 10th of Youngers
The next morning we leave at dawn, with Blossom riding advance.
Late morning, she is jumped upon by 36 goblins, 5 riding wolves and 1 riding a dire wolf.
Blossom is about 50 yards ahead of us as it happens and the goblins attack immediately.
The dire wolved goblin plus four other approach Blossom, shooting her with arrows as she immediately turns around and rides back to the party.
Ulf casts Lightning Bolt on the mass of goblins running towards us and wipes out 24 with his attack!
Mayfly casts Fireball on the leader and his dire wolf, killing them and one of his guards!
This breaks the morale of the group and they being fleeing.
Just as they do so, Liminal casts Phantasmal Force, in the image of a Fireball, knocking out two more goblins on wolves.
We search the bodies, finding 612 silver pieces on them.
A Friendly Rendezvous?
We find a groups of dead Bogdani shepherds up ahead, probably victims of the goblins. - We take the time to bury them and move on.
Next, we come upon a group of nobles, with squires and knights at hand, on the road.
They are dressing a deer as we approach - it's a hunting party.
They greet us warmly and the leader introduces himself as Bartlemebis and invites us to dine with him. He tells us that there are froglings up ahead and it is bad luck to dine with such.
We dine and make camp with them for the night.
At evening watch, Pataki sneaks off to pickpocket Bartlemebis and gets caught by him in his tent.
She rambles off a lie about chasing a snake out of his tent and leaves at once.
Late Night Trouble - The 11th of Youngers
Bartlemebis gets up and confronts Mayfly about the attempted theft, to which Mayfly is indignant - standing up [unjustifiably] for the integrity of his graverobber friend.
The conversation heats us and escalates until Mayfly threatens to blow up their entire camp in a fit of anger.
The pushes things to the breaking point and Bartlemebis turns hostile. Mayfly raises his hands and begins reciting an incantation...
Which will be resolved next week. To be continued!
